An American league matchup between the top two teams in the Central.  Of course that is not saying much. The Central division of the American League is hot garbage if it is anything. The great betting opportunity is picking the worst one (Detroit Tigers) and betting against them all season… and yes the moneyline will balloon to insane proportions.. But still making only 20-30 bucks per 100 bet on the opposition will eventually be profitable.  The Guardians are at .500 after the first 30 games of the season.  The Guardians hit the ball well and score at a top-ten clip.  However they pitch like a little league team missing a big kid.  Top ten batting, bottom ten pitching…. Game by game they will be a confusing bet.  The Minnesota Twins are a few games better than Cleveland… but they are the mirror image.  The Twins are terrible in the batter’s box and pretty good on the mound.  They are top ten pitching and bottom ten batting.  The baseball Gods should find a way to blend these teams and middle America might eventually see a World Series contender.  Until then: leave it to the deep pockets on the coasts.

The Cleveland Guardians have won 7 of their last 10 games.  They logged 7 Overs and 3 Unders during that stretch.  They have the worst name in baseball.  The Guardians is a marked improvement over the old name… but too… lame.  Maybe it will grow on all of us?  They beat the Oakland Athletics 2-0, went 1-1 against the San Diego Padres, 3-4 against the Toronto Blue Jays, and 1-1 against the Chicago White Sox.  7 of ten is great and worthy of celebration… but not when it gets you to .500.  All that means is that they started the season rough.

The Minnesota Twins have won 5 of their last ten games.  They went 3 Overs, 6 Unders, and 1 push.  Winning 5 of ten and being in first place only means that you had the chance for a real lead and dropped it.  They went 2-2 against the Baltimore Orioles, 3-0 against the Oakland Athletics, and 0-3 against the Houston Astros.  If only we all could play the Oakland Athletics all the time!  The Twins may have benefited from playing junk almost exclusively this season.  They are at the top of the list of 1st place teams that will drop like a stone soon.
