Cavaliers vs Raptors Prediction

The current betting odds have the Cavaliers listed as a 3 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Cavaliers were the surprise of the season last year as they weren't expected to do much and turned out to be a real force in the East. They have a lot of young talent on their team that was killing it for them last year, but these players are only going to grow together and take a step forward this year after the season they just had. They also improved their team by adding Donovan Mitchell from the Utah Jazz and he is already a true star in this league that will only help boost their team. The Raptors had a better season than the Cavs last year but they were also a surprise as they were not expected to do much either and ended up with 5th place in the Eastern Conference. The Raptors are still dealing with some injuries though, and even though they have all of their starters in for this game, they are still missing a lot of their bench depth. That is going to be key here as the Cavaliers now have a true star on their team and he will make it harder for the Raptors to contain him. The Cavs are going to be eager to get off to a great start with the big move they just made and this is a game that they could win straight up. The best way to place a bet here is on the Cavaliers to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“His activity. The layups that he was able to create, the plays that he was able to make early in transition, the passes that he was able to make for his teammates. I thought he really did a really good job of playing the entire game on both ends of the floor.” - J.B. Bickerstaff on Isaac Okoro in the preseason games.

"I think he's a piece that we need with the shooting. I like his cutting, his passing, and we're learning he's a really good team defender and we're learning how we can use him on the ball as well. I would imagine he's gonna especially early in the season, find his way into the rotation." - Nick Nurse on Juancho Hernangomez fitting into the rotation.
