Tigers vs Orange Preview and Analysis

RECENT FORM
Clemson is not having the season Dabo Swinney imagined. Matchup after matchup we are getting deeper insight into how much winning last year’s star quarterback was responsible.  Turns out a lot of it.  Their first opponent was Georgia and a low scoring loss 10-3.  Game two brought Clemson a blowout win over SC State 49-3.  Game 3 a bit of a shocker, though still a win for Clemson they should not barely beat Georgia Tech 14-8.  That was definitely not a win ATS.  Game 4 was an outright loss to a lesser opponent… NC State beat the Tigers 27-21.  Game 5 was a slog against Boston College Eagles that Clemson won 19-13…   Sad year for Clemson University that had gotten used to Clemson Football being the top of the Atlantic Coast Conference and contending for a National Championship.

Syracuse University opened their season with an easy win over Ohio 29-9.  Game 2 a loss to Rutgers 17-7.  Game 3 a big win over Albany 62-24.  Game 4 a tough win over Liberty 24-21.  Game 5 a tough loss to the Florida State Seminoles 33-30.  Game 6 another tough loss to Wake Forest 40-37.    In short Syracuse has 3 wins against tiny programs they should have beaten and 3 losses against teams that aren’t that great themselves.  They do not have what it will take to beat the Clemson Tigers football team… but do they have enough to cover the 13-14 point spread?
