Bengals vs Chiefs Prediction

The current betting odds have the Chiefs listed as a 5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Chiefs looked really good in their season opener, beating the Ravens 27-20 in a rematch of last season's AFC Championship game. They have picked up right where they left off last season and now they have some extra time to prepare for this game since they played last Thursday night. Meanwhile, the Bengals didn't look good in their season opener, losing at home to the Patriots 16-10. Their offense wasn't able to do much against the Patriots defense and they looked like a team that just wasn't quite ready for the season. Now they are playing their 1st road game of the season against the Super Bowl Champions and the defense is what really won the Super Bowl for the Chiefs last season. Mahomes has the talent and the weapons on offense to put up points in this game, but with the way the Bengals looked on offense last week, they are going to struggle again against this better Chiefs defense. The Bengals have also been a slow starting team over the last couple of seasons, going 0-2 to start the season last year too. They are also dealing with the contract issue of Ja'Marr Chase and even though he played in week 1, that drama is not going away and causing a distraction for the team. The best way to place a bet here is on the Chiefs to cover the spread in this game.

Bengals Chiefs Prediction:  Our NFL Pick for Sunday, September 15, 2024 (4:25 pm ET start time) is Chiefs 28 Bengals 17.

Notable Quotes

“We lost the turnover battle 3-0. One on offense, one on special teams and one a turnover on downs. Missed a lot of tackles today. (That) led to 170 yards rushing. No recipe in that style of game to be able to win. It’s very clear. You lose a turnover battle like that in Week 1, it’s going to point you to a loss. We’ve got to be accountable for that.” - Zac Taylor after his team’s loss against the Patriots in their last game.

“It was a fight down to the end. When they say it's a game of inches, might be shorter than that.” - Andy Reid after his team’s win against the Ravens in their last game.
