Cincinnati Bearcats Analysis

Cincinnati is coming into this game with a 7-0 record overall and they are 3-0 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 4th conference matchup of the year and they are in a very good position right now with a 3-0 record in their conference games this season. Their 3 wins came against the Temple Owls, the UCF Knights, and against Navy in their last game. That game was close in the first half but Cincinnati started to pull away in the third quarter and it was too much for Navy to come back from in the fourth quarter. Desmond Ridder did not play that well in that game as he completed 18/30 passes for 176 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Jerome Ford led the team in rushing with 90 yards and 1 touchdown on 15 carries but he was basically their entire running game in that one. Josh Whyle led the team in receiving with 60 yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions while Alec Pierce led the team in receptions with 5 for 37 yards. Joel Dublanko led the defense in that game with 9 solo tackles and 6 assisted ones. Curtis Brooks was right behind him with 7 solo tackles, 3 assisted ones and he had the only sack in that game for their defense. No one on the defense came away with an interception in that game though. They have scored 288 points in their 7 games this season averaging 41.1 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 102 points against them allowing 14.6 PPG. Cincinnati’s offense is averaging 419.4 YPG while the Bearcats’ defense is allowing 296.4 YPG.

Tulane Green Wave Analysis

Tulane is coming into this FBS game with a 1-6 record overall and they are 1-2 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. This will be the 4th conference matchup on their schedule this year and they are already in a big hole with a 0-3 record overall in their conference games this season. Their 3 losses came against the East Carolina Pirates, the Houston Cougars, and against SMU in their last game. They were dominated from start to finish in that game as they were trailing in it at the end of every quarter. Michael Pratt actually played a good game as he completed 11/22 passes for 234 yards and 3 touchdowns in that game. Kai Horton took 2 snaps at the quarterback position in that game and went 0/2 with 1 interception. Tyjae Spears led the team in rushing yards in that game with 85 and 1 touchdown on 14 carries while Cameron Carroll was right behind him with 80 rushing yards on 16 carries. Jha'Quan Jackson led the receivers with 93 yards on 2 receptions while Duece Watts had 48 yards and 1 TD on 3 receptions. Shae Wyatt caught the other 2 touchdown passes in that one. Nick Anderson led the defense in that game with 7 solo tackles and 4 assisted ones. JoJo Dorceus led the defense in sacks with the only 1 in the game while no one on the defense was able to come away with an interception in that one. The Tulane offense has scored 223 points in their 7 games this season averaging 31.9 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 296 points against them allowing 42.3 PPG. The Green Wave’s offense averages 402.9 YPG while the Tulane defense is allowing 494.7 YPG.

Cincinnati vs Tulane Prediction

Cincinnati is coming into this game as a 25.5 point favorite with the total set at 61.5 points with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Cincinnati is ranked 2nd in the nation and will be looking to keep that spot as they are well on their way to the college football playoffs where everything stands currently. They cannot rest though as one little slip up could cost them their spot so they will be looking to b;lowout their opponents in every game for the rest of the season. Tulane has struggled a lot in their conference games and have lost all 3 by double-digits. Their defense is awful averaging over 40 points allowed per game and Cincinnati is going to find ways to score a lot on them here. Surprisingly, their offense is pretty good this year and is averaging over 30 total points scored per game. They will also find ways to score points here but the gap in the score will still be too big for them to overcome. The best bet to place in this game is on Cincinnati to cover the spread here and on the over as there will be a lot of points in this game.

Notable Quotes

"We've got to find ways, especially on the road, when you're up, whatever it is, 13 points or something, to kind of close things out. That's probably the only thing that I'm somewhat disappointed we couldn't and didn't do today, but we needed a challenge and we got one." - Luke Fickell on his team’s close win over Navy in their last game.

“They’ve done a tremendous job recruiting and done a good job of getting transfers in different spots and developing players. We’ve seen guys get better year after year.” - Willie Fritz on the Cincinnati team that his team will be facing in their next game.
