White Sox vs Twins Prediction

The current betting odds have the Twins listed as a slight favorite in this game. The Twins have not been playing as well as they were a week ago but they are still winning games and they have a good pitching matchup here. The White Sox have really been struggling in their recent games, losing to the Twins in a series just last week and then they followed that up with 2 split series against division opponents in their last 2 series. They need to start making some ground up as they have not been playing well against their fellow AL Central teams but now they are getting the Twins who lead the AL Central coming into this series, and this is a big opportunity for either side. The White Sox have Kopech starting here and he was great at the start of the season but he has been slipping in his recent starts and has not been the same in his last few since coming back from an injury. Smeltzer is starting for the Twins and he has been getting better in his recent starts as he has been a solid option for the Twins all season since getting thrusted into this position. These pitchers have been trending in the opposite directions recently and with a bad White Sox bullpen to back Kopech up here, the Twins have a big pitching advantage. The best way to place a bet here is on the Twins to win this game.

Notable Quotes

"He's having a good time and he should. When you hit a ball like that in front of a great crowd and you do it off, probably, one of the five most dominant pitchers in baseball — and I might be shortchanging Hader at this point — you can have some fun. He's earned his fun right there." - Rocco Baldelli after his team’s win against the Brewers on Wednesday.
