Panthers vs Falcons Prediction

The current betting odds have the Panthers listed as a 3.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Panthers have made a lot of changes from last season after going 7-10 overall and one of their biggest changes has been to their starting QB as they are rolling out Bryce Young who was taken in the draft this year. Other than Young running this offense, it is still lacking a lot of talent around him and now the Panthers are in their 1st season of new head coach Frank Reich too. Reich is a really good coach though and even without a ton of talent on his team, he will find ways to keep his team in this division game against a team with similar talent. The Falcons were also 7-10 last season but a lot of that was with QB Marcus Mariota as the starter. Desmond Ridder did get some playing time but not nearly as much as Mariota who is no longer on the team so even though this is his 2nd season in the NFL, there is still going to be a learning curve with Ridder this season since he isn't that experienced. He does have a really good running game to lean on but their receiving corps aren't that great with the talent there and they are still going to struggle a lot to throw the ball on this offense. This is going to be a really scrappy game between two similarly talented teams and it could really go either way with it likely being settled by a field goal so take the points with the underdog here. The best way to place a bet here is on the Panthers to cover the spread in this game.

Panthers Falcons Prediction:  Our NFL Pick for Sunday, September 10, 2023 (1:00 pm ET start time) is Falcons 20 Panthers 17.

Notable Quotes

"Obviously a lot of work done in the last two days. As we've said a couple of times, (it's) a tough time of the year. Excited about the team we're putting together, still a little bit of work left to do but I'm sure we'll see some of these guys back." - Frank Reich on his team coming into the new NFL season.

"What I appreciate about the guys we have (is) these guys have real leadership traits. There’s not some phony narrative that people try to hype to justify certain things. These guys are real. That’s what allows you to go out and have a practice where it doesn’t feel like I’m telling guys to focus like I’m a peewee coach.” - Arthur Smith on his team coming into this season.
