Boston College Eagles Analysis

BC is coming into this college football game with a 4-2 record overall and they are 2-1 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 2nd conference matchup of the year and they are off to a bad start with a 0-2 record in their conference games this season. Their 2 losses came against the Clemson Tigers and against NC State in their last game. They kept that game close in the 1st half but were absolutely dominated in the 2nd half never scoring another point in that game after the 1st quarter. Dennis Grosel struggled in that game as he completed 21/39 passes for 194 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Pat Garwo III led the team in rushing with 50 yards on 11 carries but they did not have much of a run game in that one. Jaellen Gill led the team in receiving with 71 yards on 5 receptions in what was a very quiet day for the receiving corps. Josh DeBerry led the defense in that game with 7 solo tackles and 1 assisted one. Marcus Valdez had the only sack for the defense in that game but no one was able to come away with an interception. They have scored 185 points in their first 6 games averaging 30.8 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 117 points against them allowing 19.5 PPG. The Eagles’ offense is averaging 388 YPG while the Boston College defense is allowing 329.8 YPG.

Louisville Cardinals Analysis

Louisville is coming into this game with a 3-3 record overall and they are 2-1 in their home games this regular season where they will be in this game. This will be the 4th conference matchup on their schedule this year and they are not in a good position with a 1-2 record in their conference games this season. Their 1 win came against the Florida State Seminoles while their 2 losses came against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and against UVA in their last game. They had a 30-13 lead going into the 4th quarter of their last game against UVA and they came out of that game with a 1 point loss as they allowed UVA to make a late comeback. That game has put them on a 2 game losing streak coming into this one. Quarterback Malik Cunningham played well in that game at the quarterback position as he completed 17/25 passes for 270 yards and 1 touchdown. Hassan Hall had a massive day on the ground as he led the team in rushing with 162 yards and 1 TD on 14 carries and was basically their entire running game in that one. Tyler Harrell led the receivers with 100 yards and 1 touchdown on 2 receptions while Ahmari Huggins-Bruce had 70 yards on 4 receptions. Jack Fagot led the defense with 6 solo tackles, 3 assisted ones and 1 sack while Greedy Vance was right behind him with 6 solo tackles. Fagot along with Yasir Abdullah, Tabarious Peterson, and Mason Reiger all led the defense in sacks with 1 each in that game. Kenderick Duncan Jr. and Trey Franklin each had 1 interception for the defense in that one. They have scored 194 points in their first 6 games averaging 32.3 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 175 points against them allowing 29.2 PPG. The Cardinals offense is averaging 453 YPG while the Louisville defense is allowing 450 YPG.

Boston College vs Louisville Prediction

Boston College is coming into this game as a 6 point underdog and the point total is set at 57 with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. BC has been very good on both offense and defense in their games averaging around 30 points scored per game and allowing less than 20. Louisville scores a lot of points in their games but they are also allowing a lot, almost 30 points per game scored against them. They are also allowing a lot of yards and with Boston College's good offense, they will not have trouble scoring in this game. Louisville has played their conference opponents in some very close games, winning by 7 against FSU and losing by 3 or less in their last 2 games. This will be a close game that BC even has a chance of winning in an upset. The best bet to place in this game is on BC to cover the spread here.

Players to Watch

Boston College Eagles: Patrick Garwo III is one player to watch in this FBS contest. He leads his team in rushing yards and in touchdowns scored this season. He is coming off of a game where he led his team in rushing but did not reach the 100 yard mark. This is a game where he will be able to run the ball well so look for him to get a lot of touches here as they try to control the ground game.
Louisville Cardinals: Hassan Hall is one player to watch in this one. He is coming off of a very big day where he had over 150 rushing yards and will be looking to continue his great play in this game. They will want to keep him hot so look for him to get the ball a lot in this one and try to make some big plays on the ground for them.
