Bruins - Hurricanes preview, prediction and analysis

The Boston Bruins will travel to PNC Arena to take on the Carolina Hurricanes on March 26, 2023, in what promises to be a highly anticipated matchup between two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

The Bruins, currently sitting second in the Atlantic Division, have had a strong season thus far, boasting a record of 47-19-2. They have been led by forward Brad Marchand, who has been dominant on the ice this season with 81 points in 68 games. The Bruins will be looking to continue their success against a talented Hurricanes team.

The Hurricanes, who currently hold the top spot in the Metropolitan Division with a record of 44-23-2, have been one of the most impressive teams in the league this season. They have been led by Sebastian Aho, who has 78 points in 69 games, and Andrei Svechnikov, who has contributed 62 points in 68 games.

When these two teams met earlier in the season, the Hurricanes came away with a 3-2 victory in overtime. The Bruins were led by Marchand, who had a goal and an assist in the game, while Aho scored the game-winning goal for the Hurricanes.

Heading into this matchup, the Bruins will be looking to continue their strong play and close the gap between themselves and the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings. For the Hurricanes, a win would help them solidify their position at the top of the Metropolitan Division and potentially move them up to first place in the Eastern Conference.

One key matchup to watch in this game will be between Marchand and Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin. Slavin has been one of the Hurricanes' top defenders this season, with 34 points and a plus-23 rating in 69 games. However, he will have his hands full trying to contain Marchand, who has been one of the most dynamic players in the league this season.

Another matchup to watch will be between Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask and Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen. Rask has been a key factor in the Bruins' success this season, with a .929 save percentage and 2.12 goals against average. Andersen, on the other hand, has been solid for the Hurricanes, with a .921 save percentage and 2.35 goals against average.

Overall, this game promises to be an exciting matchup between two talented teams with aspirations of making a deep playoff run. With Marchand leading the way for the Bruins and Aho and Svechnikov leading the way for the Hurricanes, fans can expect a high-energy game with plenty of scoring chances. The Bruins will be looking to continue their success and build momentum heading into the playoffs, while the Hurricanes will be looking to solidify their position at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.
