Boise State Broncos Analysis

BSU is coming into this game with a 3-4 record overall and they are 2-1 in their road games this season where they will be in this game. This will be their 4th conference matchup this year and they are already behind the mark with a 1-2 record in their conference games this season. Their 1 win came against the Utah State Aggies while their 2 losses came against the Nevada Wolf Pack and against AFA in their last game. That was a close game that was within reach the entire time but they did not have enough in them to catch up and win that game. Hank Bachmeier played alright in that game but he also struggled at times as he completed 23/36 passes for 259 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Andrew Van Buren led the team in rushing with 58 yards and 1 touchdown but they did not get much of a run game going in that one. Stefan Cobbs led the receivers with 83 yards and 1 touchdown on 6 receptions while Khalil Shakir had 75 yards on 4 receptions. Riley Whimpey led the defense in that game with 7 solo tackles and 3 assisted ones. Scott Matlock led the defense in sacks with 2 while no one on the defense was able to come away with an interception for them in that one. They have scored 206 points in their 7 games this season averaging 29.6 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 155 points against them allowing 22.1 PPG. Their offense is averaging 368.7 YPG while their defense is allowing 407.4 YPG.

Colorado State Rams Analysis

CSU is coming into this game with a 3-4 record overall and they are 1-2 in their home games this season where they will be in this game. This will be the 4th conference matchup on their schedule this year and they are in a good position right now with a 2-1 record in their conference games this season. Their 2 wins came against the San Jose State Spartans and the New Mexico Lobos while their 1 win came against USU in their last game. That was a very close game that CSU lost by 2 points after falling behind in the second quarter and making a late comeback in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to get the win in that game. Todd Centeio played alright but he struggled at times in that game as he completed 18/29 passes for 282 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. David Bailey had a nice day on the ground as he led the team in rushing with 159 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30 carries but was basically their entire running game in that one. Gary Williams led the receivers with 80 yards and 1 touchdown on 3 receptions while Dante Wright had 71 yards on 4 receptions. Dequan Jackson led the defense in that game with 8 solo tackles and 7 assisted ones. Scott Patchan, Manny Jones, and Mohamed Kamara all led the team in sacks with 1.5 in that game while Cam'ron Carter was the only player to come away with an interception for them in that one. They have scored 172 points in their 7 games this season averaging 24.6 PPG and they have allowed their opponents to score 143 points against them allowing 20.4 PPG. Their offense is averaging 407.3 YPG while their defense is allowing 295.3 YPG.

Boise State vs Colorado State Prediction

CSU is coming into this game as a 2.5 point underdog with the current betting odds according to Draftkings Sportsbook. They have been more consistent in their games this season than BSU has been, especially in their conference games. CSU was very close to being 3-0 in conference games after their last game but just fell short while BSU won their first conference game of the year and have lost 2 straight since. CSU is just playing better right now so the best bet to place in this game is on CSU to cover the spread here and win the game straight up on the moneyline.
