We're a quarter of the way through the NFL and the one thing we can say for sure is that nothing's for sure (shoutout to all the WCW fans who got that reference). And so far, it's been a fun season to be had by all with just one undefeated team left. Will this week be the week the Eagles fall? You'll have to see what our champion handicappers think of such an idea, especially our own Wayne Root who is 30-13-1 through the first five weeks of the NFL season. Ravens - Giants preview, analysis and prediction

Last week
Ravens: won 19-17 vs. Bengals
Giants: won 27-22 vs. Packers (in London)

This is certainly not Super Bowl 35, but perhaps the New York Giants are good enough for us to believe that this is a possibility? Look, I’m always surprised when teams outplay their competition when they shouldn’t, but my firm belief is as long as Daniel Jones is the quarterback, we shall all be witness to atrocities to no end.

But alas, the atrocity here is that the Giants are 4-1 and are coming off a win over the Green Bay Packers in a dominant defensive performance in the second half, winning 27-22 in London. Daniel Jones actually had a decent game, throwing for 217 yards on 21 of 27 passing. And if you’re looking for even more positives to be had with Jones, he comes into this week not having thrown an interception in five of his last six starts. How is that even possible?

"We were aware that we were underdogs in the game — you realize that but I think we're a motivated group," Jones said. "We're motivated to play for each other."

The Packers led 20-10 at halftime. They scored just two points in the second half. We haven’t yet reached the point in the NFL lexicon where we should accept that the Giants are a good team, so any loss to the Giants should be laughed at with unmitigated hilarity. Especially when the only points from the second half were a safety in the fourth quarter. I refuse to believe the Giants are good right now until further notice.

But in all honesty, this should be a tough matchup for the Ravens in terms of Lamar Jackson wanting to do what he needs to do with the ball. Jackson has five straight games of at least 55 rushing yards and is coming off a 183-yard, two-touchdown and two-interception performance in the 19-17 win against Cincinnati last Sunday night. Fortunately for Jackson, Mark Andrews has turned into his top target after catching eight passes for 89 yards and a score last week; in three of his last four games, Andrews has had at least eight catches, 85 yards and a touchdown.

This game was more about Justin Tucker cementing his legacy as the greatest kicker to have ever graced the planet. He made three field goals in the second half to end the game and is drilling 58-yard field goals like it’s no big deal.

"What matters in those 1.3 seconds between snap, hold and the kick, are the things that are going to help the kick go through the uprights," Tucker said. "My feelings, my emotions — for 1.3 seconds, they don't really matter, whether I'm feeling very confident or nervous or even outright afraid. That's partly why I always make it a point to say a brief prayer as I'm lining up to kick — not to ask for results, but to ask for peace and to show gratitude just for sort of being able to be in that moment."

Prediction

The Ravens are a much more talented team and will need to show that on the road and beat a good Giants team .. that is not really that good. Ravens by 14
