Auburn vs Vanderbilt Prediction

The current betting odds have Vanderbilt listed as a 6.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Vanderbilt has looked really good in their games this season with their 7-2 record overall and their 3-2 conference record which has them right near the top of the SEC. They are off a 34-31 loss to Texas in their last one and that was a big blow to their playoff hopes, but they have looked a lot better on their home field this year with their 5-0 home record and they will be looking to bounce back in this one. Meanwhile, Auburn hasn't looked good in their games this season with their 4-5 record overall and their 1-5 conference record which has them right near the bottom of the SEC. They finally pulled off their first SEC win of the season against Arkansas, but they came out flat last week with a 10-3 loss at home to Kentucky and that loss ended Hugh Freeze's tenure at Auburn. They have had one of the best defenses in the nation all season, but they also have one of the worst offenses and have been finding ways to lose in their games. They are in a better position now that Freeze is gone, but they have been a disaster all year and don't really have anything left to play for besides bowl eligibility. They aren't just going to turn their offense around either, especially against this Vandy defense that has been very good at stopping the run. Vandy was down very early against Texas, but they fought all the way back to make it a tight game in the end and they are going to be looking to bounce back in a big way here, showing that they are still a team worthy of a playoff spot. The best way to place a bet here is on Vanderbilt to cover the spread in this game.
