Hawks vs Warriors Preview and Analysis.

RECENT FORM
The Hawks have lost 3 straight games and are due for a buckling down.  The Phoenix Suns, the Utah Jazz, and the Brooklyn Nets all had their number.  The hawks are 4-6 on the season but 3-7 ATS. They have struggled mightily on the road, going 1-5, 3-1 at home.

The Warriors are 7-1 on the season and 5-3 ATS. They are 3-0 on the road and 4-1 at home. Everything is going right.  The one team that they lost to was the Memphis Grizzlies in overtime.  (Memphis shares the same strength as Atlanta… young stars going head to head with Steph and Draymond while the rest of the crew has to find ways to create with the basketball)

Offensive Analysis

The Atlanta Hawks are tied for 19th in offensive rating with a score of 107.9.
Golden State is third in the league in offensive rating with a score of 109.2

Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State Warriors Prediction

Our prediction for Monday, November 8th is…  Hawks 118 - Warriors 112

Atlanta has the stronger young guns in this matchup.  Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney do not equal De’Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdonovic and Clint Capela.. Which would usually not be a big deal for GS except that Trae Young and John Collins are ATL’s best two who will face GS’s best two…. So even though they aren’t close in record, ATL has the matchup advantage.  If you can bet moneyline for Atlanta to win and get a greater return… do it.

Statistical Leaders

Hawks
Points: Trae Young 23.3
Rebounds: Clint Capela 11.4
Assists: Trae Young 9.6
Steals: Cam Reddish 1.4
Blocks: Clint Capela 1.2

Warriors
Points: Stephen Curry 25.8
Rebounds: Draymond Green 8.8
Assists: Draymond Green 6.9
Steals: Draymond Green 1.4
Blocks: Draymond Green 0.9

The years go by, the roster turns over, last season the Warriors missed the playoffs unless you count the play-in tournament as postseason?  This year they are back tasting first place… still waiting for Klay Thompson, still hoping for James Wiseman to start reaching for his potential…  The offense will always go through Stephen Curry… he is transcendent.  The thing to notice however is how much Draymond Green still holds this team together… Draymond is an anchor on defense and the glue of all the stats not called “points”.  If you need someone to “do it all” so your transcendent star can get up all the shots, you need Draymond Green.

Coaches
Hawks:  Nate McMillan.  Nate has a growing team that got some successful run in the playoffs last year.  They are and will keep growing.  His job is to keep it focused and together.

Warriors: Steve Kerr.  Steve had a dynasty in his hands.  He got to 4 NBA Finals in a row and won 3 of them… then Kevin Durant left for a budding partnership with Kyrie Irving at the same time Klay Thompson went down with an ACL tear/ achilles.  It was all over.  Except it isn’t, Klay is almost back, Curry and Green are still there… and they have plenty of young blood in the pipeline to make another run.  For entertainment purposes remember that Steve also got 5 championship rings as a player… so he can wear a ring on every finger except his thumbs.
