Braves vs Cubs Prediction

The current betting odds have the Cubs listed as a big underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The Braves have the best record in the entire MLB and also have the best offense but they haven't been at their best since coming out of the All-Star break. The Cubs also have a really good offense and have been putting up a ton of runs in their games lately as they have been a really hot team over the last week. The Braves are going to have Fried on the mound here and he has been good in his starts this season but he didn't pitch well in his last one as he gave up 5 runs and he hasn't made many starts this year either since he has been plagued by injuries. The Cubs are going with Hendricks in this game and he hasn't been pitching well lately but he was really good to start the season and has been giving up less runs in his last few starts too. He is going to be looking to continue pitching better in his starts like he has been doing and even though the Braves do have a really good offense to put up some runs with, the Cubs have been putting up a lot more runs in their games lately and they will be able to match whatever the Braves do at home here. For the way these two teams have been playing on offense and with these two starters on the mound, the value is with the Cubs here to overpower the Braves offensively and put up more runs. The best way to place a bet here is on the Cubs to win this game.

Braves Cubs Prediction:  Our MLB Pick for Friday, August 4, 2023 (2:20 pm ET start time) is Cubs 8 Braves 7.
