Arizona State Games have been exceedingly fun for longtime Arizona State fans.  The Sun Devils have beaten the UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Stanford Cardinal, Colorado Buffaloes, and 

The Washington Huskies… all in the same season.  That is a rare feat for ASU!  They have Oregon State this weekend and the Arizona Wildcats next weekend and are looking to finish with a Pac-12 record of 7-2.  Of all the conferences in College Football the Pac-12 beats up on each other the most because they play a 9 conference game schedule compared to the 8 conference games of the other big conferences.  Arizona State is looking pretty.

Oregon State has had some good Pac-12 wins as well.  They haven’t taken down every opponent though.  They lost to the Washington State Cougars, the Cal Bears, and the Colorado Buffaloes.  Oregon State’s games have been thrilling, but the difference of 1 game in conference is big.  That 1 game difference boils down to the Beavers losing to the Colorado Buffaloes in overtime.  That 1 loss (and the strength of schedule, OSU hasn’t played UCLA or Oregon yet) is what makes them the underdog in this one.

This will be a matchup of great running attacks,  smash-mouth blocking, between the Tackles until one side tires out.

The Beavers pack a punch on offense.  They are ranked 29th in the FBS with 444.6 ypg and have scored 44 offensive touchdowns.  They tilt even more toward the run game as they rank 82nd in the passing game with 215.9 passing yards per game (less than half their total).  Oregon State is the 7th ranked rushing offense in the FBS.

The pick is for Oregon State to cover the 3 points if not win outright.  Yes, ASU has an advantage on defense, but they also have a real problem with fumbles and interceptions.  In a contest this close the turnover count almost always determines the finish.
