Arizona State vs Oklahoma State Prediction

The current betting odds have ASU listed as an 11.5 point underdog in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Oklahoma State just had a very dominant performance on offense in their last game as they took control against CMU from the start and led for the entire game. They were starting to look shaky in the 2nd half though, mainly on defense as they turned what was a 20+ point lead into a 14 point win where CMU ended up covering the spread with a backdoor cover. ASU looked very good in their first game of the season, albeit against a team from the FCS, but their defense was very dominant as they did not really let NAU score points or move the ball. ASU also acquired Emory Jones from the transfer portal and he is a good QB that can put up points for this offense. This Oklahoma State defense is not the same as it was last year and with the way they played at home last week, they will either have to tighten up or this could be a closer game with that ASU offense. ASU could also end up with a backdoor cover as Oklahoma State will allow a lot of points late if they have a big lead. The best way to place a bet here is on ASU to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

“You can see some NFL stuff in what their schemes are on offense and defense. Obviously, he’s (Edwards) got a long history in the NFL … there’s some similarities at times in what they did offensively. Defensively, a little different. Last year, a lot of pressure, a lot of cover-1 and stuff. Not so much the other night.” - Mike Gundy on Herm Edwards and his style coming into this game.

“The quarterback is really good. He’s fun to watch. He can make an unannounced play, can extend plays, they have a gifted receiver corps, and some good runners offensively.” - Herm Edwards on Oklahoma State coming into this game.
