Diamondbacks vs Dodgers Prediction

The Arizona Diamondbacks are taking on the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series starting on Monday. Both teams are still to play their respective series finales on Sunday. The Diamondbacks got a win on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners 7-3. The Dodgers have now won 2 games in a row and will be looking for the sweep against the San Diego Padres on Sunday.

The D-backs are coming into this game after losing 6 of their last 7 games with the series finale on Sunday still to be played. Their win over the Mariners on Saturday snapped a 6 game losing streak that they were on. Tyler Gilbert will be getting the nod on Sunday while Zac Gallen will be the starting pitcher on the mound in this game on Monday. Gallen is 2-9 with a 4.32 ERA this season. He has been credited with 2 losses in a row but his team has won just 1 game in his last 7 starts. In his last start, he allowed 3 ER and 0 BB with 8 Ks on 6 hits through a little over 6 IP against the Texas Rangers. He has face the Dodgers just once this year back in July and it was a no-decision but his team did win that game as he only allowed 2 runs in it through 6 innings of play. The D-backs have been scoring runs recently putting up 16 in their last 3 games averaging a little over 5 runs scored per game in that span. Despite their losing streak, their bats have started to wake up in recent games so there is a good chance he will get some help from his batters in this one if he does have a bad game.

The LA Dodgers are coming into this game after winning a close 5-4 game on Saturday to the Padres with Sunday's result still pending. Max Scherzer will be throwing the first pitch for them on Sunday while a pitcher has not been announced yet for this game on Monday. The Dodgers are not concerned about making the playoffs right now. They currently hold a 15 game lead over the team in the 2nd wildcard spot so it is highly unlikely that they slip out of the playoff spot. They are concerned with catching the San Francisco Giants who currently lead them and the National League West by 2.5 games. For years they have dominated the division and the National League in general but have now been dethroned so they definitely still have something to play for. Why play in a wildcard game when you can avoid it altogether? They have won both their games against the Padres so far in their current series with Sunday's result unknown yet and they have won 4 of their last 6 games played in general. This team is top 5 in the league for pitching and they have a lot of talented players in their lineup.

The Diamondbacks are one of the worst teams in the MLB and that is not going to change anytime soon no matter how well they have started to hit the ball. The Dodgers are on a mission for another World Series and are just a much better team all around. The betting line for the Dodgers odds may be too steep but they are going to win this game SU.

Los Angeles Dodgers: Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger are both players to watch in this game at home in California. When they get hot this team scores a lot of runs so watch for them to start heating up in these final regular season games.
