Season Record

Cardinals: 7-1 (NFC West)
49ers: 3-4 (NFC West)

The point spread for this matchup seems like a no brainer and may just be.  The Cardinals are a great team with a solid all-star quarterback in Kyler Murray.  The Niners are a below .500 team that doesn’t know what to do at quarterback… Will quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo keep leading the San Francisco offense even though everyone in the world knows he is a lame duck who will be replaced by Trey Lance next season?  Shouldn’t SF be a much bigger underdog.  Truth is maybe?...  The Cards star Quarterback Kyler Murray is questionable for this game with a sprained ankle.  Vegas has assigned Kyler a value that has dropped this spread to almost a pick 'em.  Still Kyler might play… that would make these 1-point favorites very easy $$.  We kick off Nov with a contest between overextending on backup Colt McCoy or easy money on starter Kyler Murray.

Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers Preview and Analysis

Recent Form
The Cardinals have 1 loss on the season and that was to the Red Hot Green Bay Packers 24-21.  That was last Thursday… and billed as maybe the best Thursday Night Football game ever.  They have beaten everybody else including the 49ers on Oct 10th.

The 49ers are 0-3 at home… Last season they were 1-7 at home while finishing 6-10.  The 49ers are winless ATS (0-4) when the spread is 1 point in either direction.

Offensive Analysis

The Cardinals average 393.6 ypg and get 30.8 ppg.  They rely on Kyler Murray to generate all of that through sheer explosive talent.  If Kyler doesn’t play they will have to push the running game to open up things for backup Colt McCoy.  Normally this team gets 128.8 rushing yards per game… they will have to go over these numbers to secure the win if Colt is under Center.

The 49ers average 369.7 ypg and score 24 ppg.  They usually aren’t facing a defense as tough as the Cardinals.  When they tangled with the Cards defense last, they came away with only 10 points.  Last I checked Kyler hasn’t played a single down on defense.

Defensive Analysis

The Arizona Cardinals are 4th in the league on defense.  They give up 319 yards per game and a stingy 17.3 ppg.

The 49ers also have a quality defense.  They held Kyler’s offense to 17 points on October 10th.  They give up only 324 yards per game and 24.4 points per game.  This defense plus this record should let you know that Kyle Shanahan hasn’t found anything on offense that a regular genius would find.  Not generating points is why they lose…. Not giving up points.

Players to Watch

The Quarterbacks.  If Kyler Murray plays is he fully healthy?  Is Jimmy Garoppolo engaged with this team that clearly wants him to not let the door hit him in the ass on the way out?... If Colt McCoy plays out of caution for the rest of Kyler’s season… will he play well?.  The point spread is practically nothing between two very differently talented teams… all because of QB.

Starting Lineups

Cardinals: QB Kyler Murray or QB Colt McCoy, RB Chase Edmonds, WR DeAndre Hopkins or Wr Rondal Moore, WR Christian Kirk, WR A.J. Green, TE Zach Ertz, LT D.J. Humphries, LG Justin Pugh, C Max Garcia, RG Josj Jones, RT Kelvin Beachum
