American League vs National League Preview and Analysis

The American League is entering this All-Star game off a win which was a bounce back for them after losing the previous year. Before that loss to the National League, the American League had won 9 All-Star games in a row so they will be looking to rebuild that run off a win last season. The American League has 2 of their players in the starting lineup, Aaron Judge and Jacob Wilson, who are the top 2 in the MLB for batting average. They also have 2 of their starters, Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh, in the top 2 of the MLB for OPS this season. The American League has some solid pitching on their side as Garrett Crochet and Tarik Skubal are both starters with 2.23 ERA’s and Max Fried who leads the starters with 11 wins, but the National League has definitely been the much weaker league when it comes to pitching this season, so they are going to need to win this game with their lineup as that is their strength.

The National League is entering this All-Star game off a loss last year after winning the season before that. They will be looking to bounce back this year since they have lost 10 of the last 11 MLB All-Star games. The American League has dominated the National League for so many years, but they are going to have an advantage here with their pitching staff. The National League only has 1 player in the starting lineup, Will Smith, who is in the top 4 in the MLB for batting average. They do have 2 of their starting players, Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith, in the top 4 in the MLB for OPS. They also have the superior pitching staff with Paul Skenes who leads the MLB with a 2.01 ERA, and they have 3 of their pitchers in the top 6 in the MLB for ERA. The National League also has the best closer in the league, Robert Suarez, who has 28 saves this season. The National League hasn’t been the best offensively this season, but they do have some solid pitchers on the roster and will have to lean on them to win this game.

American League vs National League Prediction

The current betting odds have the American League listed as a pick 'em in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. The American League is coming off a win over the National League last season, and they have been dominating the NL over the years as they have won 10 of the last 11 All-Star games. This looks to be another game where the American League has the edge too. The American League has a lot of players in their starting lineup who have been leading a lot of the offensive categories in the MLB this season. They have the ability to put up a lot more offense with the star power in that lineup and the way they have been producing this year. The National League hasn't been producing the offensive players that the AL this season so pitching is going to be very important for the NL in this one, but they have even lost their edge in that department this year. They have Skenes starting the game and he leads the MLB with the best ERA, but there are not many pitchers from the NL following him up on that list. The American League actually has a lot more pitchers with good ERA's in the top 10 of the MLB, and they have 2 of the top 3 closers in the league on their roster too. The National League has the ability to win this game as they do still have a lot of talent on their roster and it is an All-Star game where anything can happen, but the American League has the edge with both their offense and their pitching so all signs are pointing to the AL here. The best way to place a bet here is on the American League to win this game.
