Vanderbilt vs Alabama Prediction

The current betting odds have Alabama listed as a 40.5 point favorite in this game according to Draftkings Sportsbook. Alabama has looked very good in their games against weak teams this year. They didn't look great in their game against Texas as they almost lost but Texas does have a good team while Alabama has looked great in their games against cupcake teams. They covered the 40 point spread against Utah State earlier this season and over the last 3 seasons they are 4-1 ATS when the spread is over 40 points. Vandy started the season off playing well but they also haven't played any tough teams this season. They have been getting worse the harder the teams get though and they just barely beat NIU in their last game while allowing 28 points in that game. Alabama will be able to move the ball on this defense with ease and score a lot of points while Vandy struggles to move the ball on the Alabama defense. This is also their 1st conference game of the year and after almost losing to Texas in a game a few weeks ago, they will be trying to prove a point in this game and blow Vandy out. The best way to place a bet here is on Alabama to cover the spread in this game.

Notable Quotes

"We weren't playing well enough on offense (in previous games) to not look at what we could do to move forward. We knew we had to open up and see if there was an answer for us. We've seen (AJ) in practice. He's been a consistent playmaker for us in practice and a guy that has shown command of an offense. I'm pleased that he was able to show up today." - Clark Lea after his team’s win against NIU in their last game.

"There's some evidence out there that this is the standard we want to play to." - Nick Saban after his team’s win against ULM in their last game.
