Analysis
Our 10* NFL Monday Vegas Jackpot is with Tampa Bay minus the points in the 1st Half versus New Orleans at 8:15 pm et. First place in the NFC South remains up for grabs because all four of the teams lack a winning record. Even at 4-8 this season after a 13-0 loss at San Francisco last week, the Saints are just 1 1/2 games behind the Buccaneers who are currently in first place with a 5-6 record. Atlanta is 5-8 with their bye week coming up, and Carolina is at 4-8. Yet Tampa Bay can take a 1 1/2 game lead over the Falcons, a two-game lead over the Panthers, and a 2 1/2 game lead over the Saints (and owning the tie-breaker against them with a 2-0 sweep this season) with a victory tonight. The Buccaneers were on a two-game winning streak with victories against the Rams and Seattle in the game played in Germany before losing in overtime last week in Cleveland by a 23-17 score. Tampa Bay comes back home for the first time since November 6th for this important game. Tom Brady will want his team to come out fast to seize control of this game. The Buccaneers are outscoring their opponents by 4.3 points in the first half in their last three games. The Tampa Bay defense holds their opponents to 7.7 points in the first half, and they have held their last three opponents to just 5.7 points in the first half. New Orleans gets outscored by 3.6 points in the first half this year. They are allowing their opponents to go into halftime with 12.6 points on average. In their last three games, they are averaging just 6.7 points in the first half, and they have an average halftime deficit of 4.6 points. Things are even worse for the Saints in the first thirty minutes of the game when they are playing on the road. They are allowing the home team to score 15.0 points in the first half, and they are scoring only 6.3 points in the first half to leave them with an average losing margin of 8.7 points at halftime. Last week, New Orleans gave up 10 of the 13 points they gave up to San Francisco in the first half. With the oddsmakers installing the first half point spread below a field goal, lay Tampa Bay minus the points in the first half. Good luck - Team Del Genio.
