- Brazil is coming into this match finishing 1st place in their group with 6 points after 2 wins and 1 loss. All 3 of their matches in the group stage went under 2.5 goals but this match will be very different now that they are in the knockout stage. Brazil only won their 2 matches against Serbia and Switzerland by scores of 2-0 and 1-0, but they dominated both teams the entire match in both possession and shots, and both of those teams played very defensive styles just trying to play for a draw in those matches of the group stage. Brazil did not play very well in their 1-0 loss which was their last match but they still dominated Cameroon for most of the match and they were resting all of their starters in that match as well. Their strongest players are now rested for this match and will be ready to go here, and even though they have only scored 3 goals in their 3 matches, they still have one of the most talented and strongest attacks in the entire tournament. We have already seen some of the other top countries in the World like Netherlands, France, and England all score 3 goals in their knockout matches and Brazil will surely bring their best effort here to do the same and ensure they get the win now that it matters most. They are going up against a South Korea side that finished 2nd place in their group with 4 points after 1 win, 1 draw, and 1 loss. Their attack has been very good in their last 2 matches after starting the group stage with a scoreless draw against Uruguay. They have scored 4 goals in their last 2 matches and they have a very scrappy team that will press Brazil this entire match and are capable of poaching a goal from them. South Korea does not have a very good defense though despite their scoreless draw with Uruguay in the 1st match and it really showed as they got deeper into the group stage and could not play for draws anymore. They ended up losing to Ghana allowing 3 goals in that match and even though Ghana does have a good attack that scored a lot of goals in the group stage, they were also one of the lowest ranked countries coming into the tournament. Then in their last match they played very well to get the 2-1 win against Portugal but they still conceded a very early goal in that match against what was pretty much a bench team for Portugal with 9 of their 11 starters out of the lineup in that one. Brazil has too much talent on their side to be kept out of the net by this shaky defense and once they score the 1st goal then South Korea will be forced to push their attack trying to tie it and the match will open up as their defense is left even more vulnerbale. All of the top countries in the World have been scoring 3 goals in these matches to really ensure their leads and get the win and Brazil will follow suit here as the number 1 ranked team in the World with a strong enough attack to score 3 goals themselves on this bad defense, but it would not be shocking to see South Korea slip one by the keeper either. Between these two sides, there will be enough goals in this match to push it over 2.5 goals.
