- The Blue Jays are coming into this game playing well in their recent games. They are coming off of a loss in their last game but won 3 straight prior to that, and now they are going up against a Yankees team that is going to be in a bit of a let down here. The Yankees just clinched the AL East with their win against the Jays on Tuesday night but they were celebrating with champagne after the game and having their party. They will not be getting up for this game after last night and they are still on the road here against a hungry Jays team that is still fighting to keep their Wild Card spot. The Yankees have Gerrit Cole starting here and he is 12-7 with a 3.49 ERA this season. Cole has been very inconsistent this season as he has had some really good starts and some very bad starts. He has not been pitching well recently though as he has allowed 4 runs in each of his last 3 straight starts. He also allowed 7 runs total between his 2 starts against the Jays this year and his team went on to lose both of those games. The Blue Jays have Mitch White starting here and he is 1-6 with a 5.12 ERA this season. He has not been pitching very well at all lately as he has been giving up a lot of runs but his last good start where he only allowed 1 run was actually against the Yankees in New York. He shut them down in that road game and now he will be at home for this game where the Yankees bats should not be getting up after having their clinch the division party the previous night. The Jays have still been hitting well in this series and their bats have been very hot over the last week as they are scoring runs. The Jays are still in danger of losing their Wild Card spot so they are coming to play in this game while the Yankees are going to overlook this last night in Toronto. The Jays have the bats to win this game regardless of who starts and the Yankees bats are going to go cold in this one. The Blue Jays will win this game at home and take the series.
