New York Mets -135 (DraftKings)
The Mets picked up a big win at home to start this huge NL East series last night, finishing +2 in hits and runs as the New York lineup hit four home runs against Kyle Wright. New York is 32-17 at home and Taijuan Walker has shown an extreme preference for pitching at Citi Field with a 1.93 season ERA at home. Walker is one out short of having a run of nine consecutive quality starts as he has been a reliable option for the Mets and has not taken a loss in nearly two months. Ian Anderson has nine wins, but he has not lived up to the high current standards of the Atlanta rotation. In seven of his past 13 starts he has allowed at least four runs. He had arguably his best start of the season on Tuesday but putting together another strong outing now on the road vs. a quality offense will be a challenge. Neither bullpen has been in great form lately and Walker is much more likely to provide an extended outing with Anderson clearing six innings once in his last seven starts and averaging only 5.0 innings per start this season. The Mets have also been the far more productive offensive team since the All Star break including posting an .862 team OPS in the past two weeks, towering over a .726 OPS for the Braves. The Mets have stronger season splits vs. right-handers and a huge recent edge in scoring and batting vs. right-handers in comparing these teams. The Mets have led the NL East all season and are 5-3 in this series and this is a reasonable price on one of MLB’s best home teams. Thank you for playing with Nelly’s and Best of Luck.
