Analysis
Our 20* NHL Monday Vegas O/U Jackpot is with the Colorado/St. Louis under at 9:37 pm et. The St. Louis Blues will have to continue this series with their hot goaltender Jordan Binnington who got injured when he got hit by the Avalanche’s Nazem Kadri in Game 3 of this series on Saturday. Ville Husso came on in relief for Binnington in the first period and stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced in a 5-2 loss. The Blues were winning the game, 1-0, when the injury happened. Husso had his best regular season this year by posting a .919 save percentage. In 21 starts at home during the regular season, he had a 2.34 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. He won the starting job over Binnington as the season moved on, yet after struggling in the first round of the playoffs against Minnesota, he lost the job again once Binnington started playing well. Husso’s first playoff experience was against the Wild. With two days to prepare knowing that he is Blues’ starting goaltender tonight, he has the opportunity to play better. After the injury to Binnington, this will likely be a physical, low-scoring game. St. Louis has played five of their last eight games under the number when playing with revenge from a loss by more than one goal. They have played four of their last six games under the total at home after a loss to a Central Division rival. The Blues have played four of their last five games under the number after not scoring more than two goals in their last game. St. Louis has scored more than two goals only once in this series. Avalanche goaltender Darcy Kuemper might have played his best game in his career in the playoffs on Saturday. He stopped 29 of the 31 shots he faced with several magnificent saves. In his seven postseason games for Colorado this postseason, Kuemper has posted a 1.99 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. The Avalanche have played five of their last eight games on the road under the number after a win against a Central Division opponent. They have played five of their last seven games under the total after scoring five or more goals in their last game. The Aves are not finding success in their power play against the Blues as they have gone scoreless in five of their six opportunities with the man advantage. The first two games of this series finished under the number with five combined goals scored in each, and Game 3 would have as well if not for Colorado scoring a late empty netter. Play the under. Good luck - Team Del Genio.
