Analysis
Boston has climbed to 10-8 with three wins in a row and they have an average scoring differential of +2.8 per game, not far behind Eastern Conference leader Brooklyn at +3.8. The Nets are also winners of three straight, but it has not exactly been a difficult path. Four of the past six wins for the Nets have come against Orlando, New Orleans, and Oklahoma City, teams that are a combined 13-41. The other two wins were both against Cleveland, a team that made some early noise but appears to be falling back towards the bottom of the East. The Nets have played the #26 ranked schedule and are 1-4 vs. top 10 teams, a threshold Boston is currently in. Boston hasn’t had an overwhelming gauntlet of a path to get back on track but after starting 2-5 in a significant transition, this team is looking like an Eastern Conference threat. Boston is 5-0 in the past five home games including wins over the Bucks and the Lakers and the Celtics are 6-2 ATS vs. winning teams this season. Brooklyn is a losing ATS team on the road so far this season and this is a second road game in three days ahead of a short break and two big home games coming up starting Saturday. The host has won six of the past seven meetings in this series and in the first meeting since getting bounced in the playoffs against Brooklyn last spring, the Celtics should deliver a strong performance to continue to beat its current season numbers that included the slow start. Both teams have some roster questions tonight but that is nothing new in the day-to-day NBA and the loss of Joe Harris and Bruce Brown could be significant for the Nets. Thank you for playing with Nelly’s and Best of Luck.
