Yet an 85-yard interception return for a touchdown gave them a 14-point swing in the game and jumpstart their momentum. The Cowboys closed the game out on a 19-0 run to win the game, 33-24. Oklahoma State is on the road for a second straight week where they have covered the point spread just five times in their last thirteen games when the oddsmakers install the over/under from 42.5 to 49.
Iowa State began the season as a top-ten nation in the national polls yet they lost two of their first four games. The Cyclones lost at Iowa and Baylor despite outgaining in yardage both opponents. Turnovers and special teams miscues played a role in both games. Yet Matt Campbell’s team has won their last two games after a 33-22 win at Kansas State as a 6.5-point favorite last week. Iowa State remains very much alive to reach the Big 12 championship game. This is the time of the season where this team thrives under Campbell. The Cyclones are 33-16-2 ats in their last fifty-one games played in October, and they have covered the point spread in five of their last seven games in conference play. Iowa State has covered the point spread in five of their last seven games when the oddsmakers install them as the favorite. Campbell will be able to motivate his team with the memory of their 24-21 loss at Oklahoma State last October. Take Iowa State minus the points.
