Analysis
#393 WISCONSIN (-) over Purdue at 3 PM EST Checking in after knocking the No. 2 out of Iowa, Purdue will have all kinds of problems matching the emotion needed once again to upset a solid Wisconsin squad. Since getting smashed by the Fighting Irish, the Badgers have responded by pounding the Fighting Illini and Black Knights in their last two games and they will have no trouble rolling past the Boilermakers in this Big 10 showdown. According to the History Book, UW has been in complete control of this series posting a sensational 14-0 SU and 11-3 ATS record in the last 14 meetings. In West Lafayette in that run, the Badgers own a golden 7-0 SU and ATS mark and have won those battles by an average of 17.0 points per game. Overall, in their last 38 battles on the conference road, Wisconsin holds a respectable 26-12 SU and 23-14-1 ATS mark including a highly profitable 23-3 SU and 19-7 ATS provided it is priced as a reasonable favorite between -1.5 and -28. Lastly, as a guest arriving off a pointspread loss, head coach Paul Chryst’s boys own a strong 13-4 SU and ATS tally in their last 17 games. Off the upset road win as an 11-point road underdog against the Hawkeyes, the Boilermakers find themselves in a really difficult wagering spot. Since 1980, college football pups that just won straight up as a road dog priced at +10 or more own a woeful 61-97-3 ATS mark provided they are matched up against an opponent that arrives with confidence off two or more straight up wins. If this is a regular season game and our “play against” side is lined up against a foe that is not rested, this system falls to an ugly 50-88-3 ATS including a horrendous 26-61-1 ATS in this set if we hold a team won/loss percentage of .500 or better. When hosting an opponent that arrives off a straight up win, the Boilers have lost their steam posting a weak 8-27 SU and 10-24-1 ATS tally including a disturbing 1-8 SU and 0-9 ATS if PU holds a team won/loss percentage of .501 or better. The Badgers “D” is coming on strong right now and they’ll be the difference in this war. Take Wisconsin. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
