Analysis
#920 LA ANGELS with Heaney (-) over Tampa Bay wit McHugh at 9:38 PM EST Off four consecutive straight up losses including three to the Devil Rays, the Halos will close out this series with a much-needed victory. Tampa Bay has won four in a row and this will be a difficult encore for manager Kevin Cash's crew. Up on the hill for the Angels will be southpaw Andrew Heaney. Since getting pounded at home by the White Sox back on April 2nd, No. 28 has settled down in his last four outings against the M's, 'Stros, Twinkies and Blue Jays allowing just seven earned runs and 13 hits in 20.0 innings of work. Heaney fanned 30 and walked only seven on his way to a 1-1 tally with a respectable 3.15 ERA. In four career starts against the Rays, Andrew has posted an 0-3 record with a reliable 4.87 ERA. Countering for the Devil Rays in this bullpen start will be relievers Collin McHugh and lefty Josh Fleming. McHugh will get the nod and, with 5.1 innings in the bank this season, he has been hammered for six earned runs and 12 hits. After the math, that equates to an 0-1 tally with an elevated 10.13 ERA. At night this season, Collin has only pitched one inning and get zapped for three earned runs and three hits. That's bad enough for an 0-0 mark and a woeful 27.00 ERA. On a technical note, Los Angeles has won six straight after dropping the first three games of a series and four straight in the fourth game of a series. On the other side of the yard, Tampa Bay has slipped in five of its last seven in the fourth game of a series. In the cellar in the AL West but only 4.0-games from the top spot, the Halos need to pick up the pace at home if they want to be considered a contender for a division title. Take Los Angeles with Heaney. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
