- Boston starter Nathan Eovaldi toes the rubber with a 3.63 ERA and 2.12 FIP in six starts this season and has yet to give up a home run across 34.2 innings of work. His ERA is artificially inflated due to bad luck (.327 BABIP, 67.4% LOB%) and he continues to induce a high rate of soft contact (22.8% Hard%). Eovaldi is 2-0 with a 1.89 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in three career starts against the Tigers and is backed by a capable Boston bullpen that is ranked 12th in the majors in ERA (3.73), third in FIP (3.37), and second in strikeout rate (11.04 K/9).
