- #859 MONTANA ST (-) over Idaho at 7 PM EST
Off four consecutive straight up losses versus two of the best team in the Big Sky (Eastern Washington and Weber State), Montana State will get healthy in a hurry when it visits Idaho on Friday night. The Vandals check into this conference battle with an ugly 0-19 SU and 5-14 ATS record this season and they'll be in serious trouble here once again.
A quick glance at the History Book shows that the Bobcats have been in control of this series lately posting a proud 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS record in the last five meetings. Equally impressive, in Big Sky play battling a foe that owns a conference won/loss percentage less than .600, head coach Danny Sprinkle's boys own a remarkable 16-5 SU and 12-6-3 ATS mark including a lucrative 8-4 SU and 8-2-2 ATS in this set if they are playing on the road. Also, since 2019, Big Sky road teams that hit the hardwood without confidence off a straight up loss hold a phenomenal 60-32-1 ATS tally provided they are matched up against a conference opponent. If our "play on" side takes the floor off back-to-back SU and ATS losses, this Big Sky angle explodes to a highly profitable 20-4 ATS. That bodes well for Montana State.
Dating back to February 6th, 2020, Idaho has been one of college basketball's worst teams inking a woeful 2-28 SU and 8-22 ATS record in its last 30 games. In this run facing a conference opponent, the Vandals drop to a dismal 2-25 SU and 6-21 ATS record including a shocking 0-21 SU and 2-19 ATS if they are priced as an underdog between +2 and +14. Adding to that misery, since January 9th, 2020, Big Sky home dogs hold a disgraceful 15-44 SU and 20-38-1 ATS mark provided they are lined up against a conference foe. If our "play on" pooch is fighting with revenge, this Big Sky situation falls to a nasty 10-25 SU and 10-24-1 ATS including an eye-popping 2-21 SU and 2-20-1 ATS if they are priced as an underdog of +3 or more.
The Vandals can't score (avg 60.2 ppg) and don't defend well (allow an avg of 77.5 ppg). On the ugly 0-4 SU and ATS run, the Bobcats will have no trouble picking up the pieces and posting a huge win and cover here. Take Montana State. Thanks and best of luck, Tom.
