Analysis: Western Michigan is 6-4, but it has a golden opportunity to finish the season 8-4 with a favorable road game here at 3-7 Northern Illinois, followed by a favorable road game at 4-7 Eastern Michigan. That would almost assuredly win it the regular-season title. When these teams played last year, Northern Illinois won 42-28 at Western Michigan as a 2-point favorite. Clearly, a lot has changed since then for each side, but that said, I'm expecting another "shootout" here as well this year. The Huskies are coming off an impressive 45-3 win at UMass, and I think they carry over that momentum here at home. Dual-threat QB Jalen Macon was 3 of 4 for 73 yards passing and a touchdown, as well as running 12 times for 98 yards and three other touchdowns. Look for each of these motivated sides to push the pace of this on,e and then look for this total to blast past this really low number sometime early in the second half.
